School of Ballroom & Latin Dance
Opened in 1976 by Bart Ferko, the Dance Scene studio tucked behind the Cattleman's at I-696 and Van Dyke has been providing a place for Metro Detroit residents to express themselves through dance for over 40 years.
Anna is now the Owner of The Dance Scene. She was Bart’s fellow teacher for over 25 years and is an accomplished dancer from Poland. Anna is an excellent instructor who loves to teach all skill levels.
The studio hosts private dance lessons, group lessons and several parties and events. Private lessons, group lessons, and dance parties are open to the public. All ages are welcome.
The Dance Scene’s mission is to enrich lives by building confidence, encouraging wellness and providing opportunities for social connection through dance.

Private Lessons
Dancers quickly learn that the most important elements of ballroom dancing do not focus on choreography, but on body movement and connections. Group lessons focus on choreography due to the size of the group with students dancing with each other. Students can learn faster one-on-one when they feel the correct movement from their instructor. The level of frustration is lower when a teacher can gear his/her teaching specifically to the student’s way of learning and motivation.

Group Lessons
Our Group Classes are structured as progressive and continuous six-week session courses on a subject of particular dance or two.For example “Beginning Foxtrot/Tango Group Class” would cover basic fundamentals of dancing with a partner, basic technique of Ballroom Dancing as well as 3-4 steps and amalgamations in those two dances.

Wedding Packages
We will choreograph your wedding dance and make you feel confident as you dance in front of your family and friends. In five 50-minute sessions, you will be gliding to your own hand-picked music. You’ve made sure that everything else will be wonderful for your special day, feel confident and romantic as you dance into your new life together. Packages for entire wedding parties are also available.
